Auburn Mountainview, is a Senior High School located on the outer edge of Auburn. Named after the scenic views from the school including both the Cascade Mountains and Mt. Rainier.

History

Construction of Auburn Mountainview began in 2004 in the Lea Hill area of Auburn, Washington. The school was built to relieve overcrowding of the district's other two main high schools, Auburn Senior High School and Auburn Riverside High School. Mountainview opened its doors to the community in the fall of 2006. Nearby Rainier Middle School is the primary feeder school with a small number from Cascade Middle School as well as some Kent area students.

Academics

Auburn Mountainview offers Advanced Placement classes in Computer Science, Biology, Calculus, Language, Literature, U.S. History, European History, U.S. Government, CompSysEng 1-2, Graphics, German, Spanish, Japanese, and French.

Athletics

Auburn Mountainview High School is part of the Class 3A Division. Sports include football, volleyball, cross country, track & field, tennis, golf, wrestling, gymnastics, baseball, fastpitch, and basketball.

Arts

Auburn Mountainview High School has an active drama club, the Auburn Mountainview Theater Company (AMTC). The AMTC typically puts on three plays a year. Its 2008-09 season's plays consist of A Midsummer Night's Dream, Zombie Prom, and The Shadow Box.
