"Stand above Me" was a single released as the first single from Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark album "Liberator" (released a few weeks ahead of the album), and their 26th single overall. It was the last OMD single released on a 12" format.

An "anonymous" club 12" was released as "Liberator: Stand above Me". This looked like it was credited to the act "Liberator". This record made it to #6 in the US dance charts.
