Suresh Haldankar

Maharashtra Gandharva Pandit Suresh Haldankar was an Indian classical singer, actor and teacher. [cite news |title=Musical tribute |url=http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/articleshow/36382545.cms |work=The Times of India |date=2003-02-03 |accessdate=2008-02-25 ] Born in Goa in a Daivajna family, Suresh Haldankar learnt classical music from Pt. Jagannathbuwa Purohit (alias Gunidas) and later from Ganpatrao Dewaskar. He was a hero of Marathi "Sangeet Natak" musicals and also acted alongside Bal Gandharva. He had a very good base of classical music. He used to run classes of Indian Classical Music at Dadar. Some of his other famous songs are "Vithu maza lekur wala" and "Govinda re gopala".
