Airways International Cymru was an airline based in Cardiff, Wales. The airline ceased all operations in 1988 after going bust.

History

The airline started off as a holiday airline offering flights to popular holiday destinations. It was based in Cardiff, Wales and started operations with a single BAC 1-11. As the airline grew it introduced more BAC 1-11s and then a Boeing 737-200. The airlines was owned by Airways International Cymru Ltd. In 1986 it received its first Boeing 737-300, after it received this they expanded their destinations to popular places all of Europe. A few months later the airline started to go bankrupt, as this was the case some 737-300s were returned to their leasers. Eventually in January 1988 the airline finally got their license revoked and ceased all operations. [Airlines Remembered by BI Hengi, Publisher Midland Publishing]
