Healthcare in Europe

Healthcare in Europe

Healthcare in Europe is provided through a wide range of different systems run at the national level. Systems used include primarily Publicly-funded health care (e.g. United Kingdom), mixed Public and Private Funded healthcare (e.g. Germany), and predominately private Health Insurance based care.

Within the EU, the European Commission's Directorate-General for Health and Consumer Protection is responsible for the implementation of EU laws on the safety of food and other products, on consumers' rights and on the protection of people's health.
