History

KDAV is called "the Buddy Holly Station" because young Holly did a country show there before he shot to stardom. The station observes Buddy Holly's career the first weekend of February.

Deejays

Among its deejays are Bud Andrews, Jerry "Bo" Coleman, and Virgil Johnson, former lead singer of the The Velvets, which released the 1961 hit "Tonight (Could Be the Night)".
