*An older slang term for a strikebreaker, as in "Blackleg Miner"; scab is the word used today.
*A slang term for a person who cheats at cards, a cardsharp.
*Various animal and plant diseases, including:-
**blackleg - a disease that affects sheep and cattle. Blackleg vaccine gives immunity against it.
**A disease of the rapeseed plant.
**A disease of brassica plants, caused by the fungus "Leptosphaeria maculans"
**A disease of potatoes: see List of potato diseases
**A disease of cultivated geraniums, caused by species of the fungus "Pythium"
*The (defunct) UK metal music outfit Matter released an album entitled "Blackleg" in early 2002.
*In the mid-19th century in the USA, the human disease scurvy
