"Amy Grant" is the first album by then-teenage Christian singer Amy Grant, released in 1977 (see 1977 in music).

"Amy Grant", although today considered a modest record success, was probably one of the biggest Christian album releases ever when it was issued in 1977. At that time, CCM (or as it was more commonly called, Inspirational music) was a tiny subgenre, sold exclusively at Christian bookstores. But the album was a breakthrough in terms of the Christian music market of the day, selling 50,000 copies in one year. Three songs from the album made Top Ten Christian radio airplay: "Old Man's Rubble," "Beautiful Music," and "What A Difference You've Made."

In 2007, "Amy Grant" was reissued and digitally remastered by Grant's new record label, EMI/Sparrow Records. The remastered edition is labeled with a "Digitally Remastered" logo in the 'gutter' on the CD front. Trivia

*"Amy Grant" was not intended as a big seller. In fact, Word Records only shipped copies of the album to stores when they requested it. The album's sales were primarily due to an independent promoter hired by Amy Grant's father, Dr. Burton Grant.
*Early copies of "Amy Grant" had a different cover photo, with a sepia-toned diffusion filter similar to that used in the opening credits of "The Waltons" beginning in Season 2. The photo was considered less than flattering, and was replaced with the cover photo used to this day. Albums with the original cover art are rare and considered to be collector's items.
