Avulsion injury

An avulsion is a situation where all layers of skin are removed by a cut, scrape, or other injury. According to PeaceHealth, they are usually treated by health care professionals if larger than 1 quarter-inch by 1 quarter-inch in size (6.4mm x 6.4mm).
