- Car Nicobar class fast attack craft
The "Car Nicobar" class of fast attack crafts are being built at Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers for the Indian Navy. The ships will be cost-effective platforms for patrol and rescue operations at sea.
Design
The ships have improved habitability with fully air-conditioned modular type accommodation. They have sensors/radars, an efficient gun turret of indigenous make and sewage treatment plant to comply with the conditions laid down by the International Maritime Organisation. Weapons
One 30mm CRN-91 gun fitted on the forepeak. The CRN-91, which is a naval version of the 2A42 30mm Medak gun, is controlled by an electronic fire control system developed & jointly produced by the Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL).
