Joan Shorenstein

Joan Shorenstein was a journalist for The Washington Post who died of cancer in 1985 at the age of 38. She was married to Michael Barone (pundit), a senior writer for US News and World Report.

In 1986, her parents donated $10 million to Harvard University to establish the The Joan Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics and Public Policy. It is currently run by Dr. Marvin Kalb.
