Tim Davie (b.1967) is the BBC's Director of Marketing, Communications & Audiences. He joined the BBC in April 2005, from PepsiCo, [ Citation

] and was Mark Thompson's first senior external appointment as Director General of the BBC.

He is responsible for all the BBC's marketing, communications, audience research and insight activities and the BBC's audience services department, which includes the BBC's customer call centres.

Announcing his appointment to the BBC, Director-General Mark Thompson said: "Tim Davie is one of the UK's top marketeers and has an outstanding track record built through a succession of UK and international roles."

Appointed as UK Marketing Manager for PepsiCo in 1993, Tim was subsequently promoted to Vice President, Marketing, Europe and Sub-Sahara Africa, holding several similar appointments, including in the United States, before taking up the Vice President for Marketing and Franchise post.

Prior to PepsiCo, Tim Davie worked at Procter and Gamble having studied English at Selwyn College, Cambridge.

He is a Director of Freeview and Digital UK and also a Trustee of Children in Need.

It was announced in June 2008 that Jenny Abramsky was retiring from the BBC after 39 years of service, and was to be replaced by Tim Davie as Director of BBC Audio and Music.
