Henry Traphagen was the Mayor of Jersey City, New Jersey from May 4, 1874 to April 30, 1876.

Traphagen was born June 1, 1842, in Jersey City. He was the son of Henry Mackaness Traphagen and his wife Sarah Conselyea. He was the great-grandson of former Jersey City mayor Cornelius Van Vorst. He studied at Rutgers University and Brown University and became an attorney in 1864. He married Annie Matilda Cambell on November 9, 1869. A lawyer in Jersey City and a Democrat, he was elected mayor and served one term.
