List of Saros series for lunar eclipses

Lunar eclipses are grouped by their Saros cycle, each series lasts between 1200 and 1500 years and contains 70-85 lunar eclipses. Each series begins with a set of penumbral lunar eclipses, and progresses to partial eclipses, crossing into total eclipses and ending with partials and penumbral eclipses.

Lunar eclipses in even series exist at the ascending node of the moon's orbit, and odd series occur at the descending nodes.

Each sequence begins with penumbral eclipses, transitions into partial eclipses and then total eclipses, and then reverses back to partial and penumbral. The counts for each type are listed below.

Series have been indexed as 1-175 (active between 1300 BC and 2700 AD). A subset of series 108 to 151 have been active within the 20th and 21st centuries. Series 108 ended in 1969 and series 150 will begin in 2013.
