Froma Harrop (born March 18, 1950 in New York City) is an American writer who normally "displays an independent voice on politics, economics, and culture." [The Cagle Post. Early life

Born in New York City, Harrop was raised in suburban Long Island. Recent career

Harrop later became a business editor for The New York Times News Service. She returned to her reporting roots as a business writer for the "Providence Journal" in Rhode Island and subsequently joined the "Journal"’s editorial board, where she remains a member. Harrop has been a guest on PBS, Fox News, MSNBC, NPR and many other television and radio stations. Specific appearances include the Lou Dobbs Show, Tucker on MSNBC and PBS’s White House Chronicles.
