Poço das Antas Biological Reserve

Poço das Antas Biological Reserve is a biological reserve of Brazil.

The reserve is located north to the city of Rio de Janeiro, in the municipality of Silva Jardim. And is one of the last habitats for the gold lion tamarind. Many conservation efforts are being made to protect the area that is endangered by surrounding farms. Although the forest isn't primary, the current vegetation enables many species to survive. The gold lion tamarind, unfortunately, isn’t the only specie endangered. The Broad-snouted caiman is another example.
