Mackay Transit is the principal provider of public transportation at Mackay in Queensland, Australia. It will operates bus routes under the new QConnect scheme in regional Queensland.

Service Area

Mackay Transit operates from North Mackay in the North, down to South Mackay, in the South. The areas with the best service coverage is Mackay CBD

Qconnect services

Bus route numbers and destination information are displayed on the front of the buses. In addition, route numbers are also displayed on the side on most of the buses.

Fleet

Mackay Transit operates a small fleet of minibuses, medium and large sized buses and also coaches for school bus and charter services. The fleet comprises large low-floor accessible Mercedes 0500 buses with VST bodywork, manufactured by Bustech. There are other non wheelchair and wheelchair accessible buses in the fleet. Most of the non-accessible fleet are progressively being replaced with newer accessible buses.
