USS Copperfin

USS Copperfin

USS "Copperfin" is the fictitious submarine on which the 1943 movie "Destination Tokyo" was set. Scenes inside the submarine were shot in soundstage sets (which were constructed to be very unrealistically spacious). Exterior shots frequently use miniatures; a few show different "Gato"-class boats.

No ship of the United States Navy has been named "Copperfin", and no fish or other denizen of the deep is called a "copperfin."
