Nettavisen

Nettavisen

Nettavisen (English: The [inter]net newspaper) was the first Norwegian online newspaper that was not established in relation to a pre-existing real-life newspaper. It started up on 1 November 1996. TV 2 bought the web site in 2003, and from then until 2006 it was called "TV 2 Nettavisen".

On October 23, 2008 the board of TV 2 decided to initiate negotiations with TV 2's owners, Egmont and A-pressen, to buy Nettavisen from TV 2.[1]

Today Nettavisen is the 8th largest website in Norway according to the official TNS Scores system measured in daily visitors, with about as many daily visitors as Aftenposten, Norways largest traditional newspaper.
