Prakasham barrage

The Prakasham Barrage is located in Vijayawada.The Prakasham Barrage stretches 1223.5 meters across the Krishna River.The Prakasam Barrage was completed in the year 1957 and since then has been serving Vijayawada and the krishna delta. One of the first major irrigation projects of South India, the Prakhasam Barrage in Vijayawada was successful in its mission. It was named after Sri Tanguturi Prakasam, the first Chief Minister of the state of Andhra Pradesh.
Andhra Pradesh largely owes its richness in agriculture to the Prakasham Barrage as the project has helped in the irrigation of huge agricultural lands.Besides,it is also one of the major travel attractions in Vijayawada,.
