"Tacoma Weekly" is a weekly community newspaper published by Pierce County Community Newspaper Group (PCCNG). The paper started in 1987 as the Tacoma Monthly and in 1994 became the Tacoma Weekly. [ [http://www.tacomaweekly.com/pccng_about.php About Tacoma Weekly ] ]

The newspaper has always been a free publication. It is distributed on Thursdays inside hundreds of businesses and public spaces in the Tacoma area. The paper underwent a major redesign in the summer of 2001. They switched from a tabloid format to a broadsheet format. This gave them considerable more space, allowing them to split the paper into two sections. The paper now (April 2008) consists of four sections: News, Sports, City Scene and Classifieds.
