IEM Concept

The Industrial Engineering and Management Concept rests on the integration of technological understanding and management skills. The studies provide analytical capacities, engineering and management knowledge.

Mission

ESTIEM is the only Europe-wide organisation of students of Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM). Its main goal is establishing and fostering interrelations among IEM students of across Europe and supporting them in their personal and professional development. This is achieved by organising a diverse portfolio of activities and events, and by providing a platform for communication and intercultural exchange.

Structure

The organisation is managed by a board. Throughout the year different projects are going on and committees are working on strategic and operative tasks. All this is work is done voluntary by IEM students of the member groups and alongside to their studies. The students work in multinational teams from their home and hold meetings once in a time in different locations in Europe.

Local Groups

The members of ESTIEM – in a legal sense – are the Local Groups (LGs) spread out all over Europe. All are independent local student associations active in organising and arranging Europe-wide and local activities. All Local Groups are related to the studies of Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM) only, forming a network of IEM students all over the continent.

ESTIEM Local Groups are organising and promoting international ESTIEM events and a number of local activities. The latter are generally directed to students of the local university, such as company tours, career fairs in their university, and social events. Each Local Group is financially self-sustaining and thus needs to be active in fund raising.
