Used future

Used future is a literary concept of modern science fiction. It represents a future wherein the environment and materials look old and used as opposed to everything being shiny and new in appearance.

The term was coined by George Lucas when referring to the look and feel of his film "". The film takes place 20 years after in a galaxy now run by a ruthless empire. Consequently, many buildings, vehicles, and other elements are weathered and dirty in contrast to those seen in the prequel films.
