Kendal College is a further education college situated in Kendal on the edge of the Lake District National Park.The college provides a wide and diverse variety of educational programmes, from further to Higher Education, to the local community.

The college consists of three sites, with an Outdoor Education Centre in Windermere where teaching is conducted in partnership with South Lakenland Leisure:

Locations

Main Site - Milnthorpe Road, KendalThe majority of our courses are base at our main site. Over the next few years significant investment will be placed on refurbishment and improvement to facilities so that students learn in a modern environment.

The Creative Arts Centre - Beezon Road, KendalThe Creative Arts Centre is where all the media and expressive arts as well as art and design courses take place. The Centre has forged links with the Brewery Arts Centre where students perform on a regular basis.

The Craft and Construction Centre - Union Street, KendalA purpose built craft and construction centre from which students learn wood occupations, furniture and cabinet making. Students have the chance to use hand tools and machinery whilst creating their masterpiece.

Windermere Outdoor Centre - Rayrigg Road, WindermereSituated on the shores of Lake Windermere, Windermere Outdoor Education Centre provides outstanding facilities for outdoor pursuits on the lake, including canoeing, sailing, kayaking, and windsurfing. The centre is also equipped with onsite teaching facilities.

The Learning CentreThe Learning Centre is the 'information hub' of the college, containing both traditional and modern resources to enhance your learning. It is a place where you can study with friends or on your own, read in your own time and get access to the latest journals and magazines.

ComputersThere is a large bank of modern computers allowing you to research your work through a variety of means, including multi-media CDs, and the Internet. You will also have your own email address. Modern equipment such as the latest scanners and printers allow you to finish your work to the highest standards. All student computers run WIndows XP with Office 2003.

Busy BeesBusy Bees Nursery offers a wide range of facilities to meet all your child care needs. The nursery provides a warm, caring and safe environment where we aim to develop your children's skills through both play and planned activities.We can cater for up to 15 children per session with each child closely monitored by our qualified and committed personnel.We are registered with Ofsted and accept children from the age of three months.Where places are not immediately available in the Nursery, we can put you in touch with one of our network of childminders.Young parents will be eligible to apply for funding through Care to Learn, please ask for details

The College RestaurantCatering students provide a range of delicious meals in our training restaurant and since it is open to the public it provides them with valuable experience of a real life working environment. Many students make bookings to celebrate special occasions.

RefectoryDining Services for students are available at both Milnthorpe Road site and The Creative Arts Centre. Tasty breakfasts, a range of hot and cold lunches and snacks areavailable throughout the day at reasonable prices.
