Takami Akai , the character designer for the "Princess Maker " series of games (also by Gainax), was the character designer and original creator for "Yucie". Thus, there are many similarities between characters in the "Princess Maker" games and this anime series.
** Yucie's appearance is based on Lisa, the daughter from "Princess Maker 3"
** Cube is the player's butler in "Princess Maker 2 ". In the anime, Cube is also Yucie's butler and has a nearly identical design.
** The judge in the final episode has the same appearance as Maria, the daughter from "Princess Maker 1"
** Nihongo|Ket Shi|ケット・シー|Ketto shī , the demon cat who tries to overthrow Glenda's father and crown himself the new king of the Demon World, is a recurring character fromPrincess Maker 2 . However, Ket Shi in the game is the god of the Wildcat tribe, and has a different appearance and personality from the anime one. Despite this, both characters share the same ability to cast shapeshifting spell. Ket Shi is also based on Cait Sith, a fairy creature from Celtic mythology which is quite popular in modern Japan. Cait Sith legend has been incorporated into many other games, anime, and manga as well.
* Around episode 14, the ending imagery begins showing images of all five girls instead of images of just Yucie, and while the ending theme title doesn't change, the wording does change slightly.
* At episode 19, the ending imagery returns to what it was before, while the wording remains slightly changed. This revert only lasts for episode 19.Resources
