Jakarta were a former Yugoslav rock band.

Band history

The band was formed in 1981 in Belgrade. They released their debut album "Maske za dvoje" ("Masks for two") in 1984 in the following lineup: Igor Popović (vocals), Jane Parđovski (guitar), Rade Bulatović (bass guitar), Miloš Petrović (keyboard) and Ivan Fece (drums, a former Luna member). Album vas produced by Saša Habić. Album brought pop funk hits "Spiritus", "Piromanija", "Dama sa severa", "Pozovi me". With their second album "Bomba u grudima" ("Bomb in the chest"), recorded with new drummer Miroslav Karlović, they moved to pop-rock sound. Album was not well accepted by the critics and Jakarta disbaned in 1986.
