Jacqueline Bracamontes van Hoorde (born December 23, 1979 in Guadalajara, Mexico), is a Mexican actress, model, and former winner of Nuestra Belleza Mexico in 2000.

Biography

Early life and career

Jacqueline Bracamontes was born on December 23, 1979 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico to Jesus Bracamontes, the former coach of the popular Mexican football team Chivas Rayadas del Guadalajara, and Jacqueline van-Hoorde. She is the oldest of three children and has two other siblings; a sister Alina, and a brother, Jesus, Jr. Her father is currently a football analyst for the Hispanic-American television network Univision.

A Roman Catholic by conviction, she traveled to Connecticut, United States with the religious movement Legionary of Christ on a spiritual preparation. When she finished her undergraduate work, she traveled alone to France where she learned to speak French.

Modeling career

When she returned to Mexico, she began to model for some young fashion magazines, with the acceptance of her family, who supported her at all times, but not before finishing her degree in Communication Sciences . After seeing her in a cover, Lupita Jones, ex-Miss Universe and director of the contest Nuestra Belleza Mexico (Miss Mexico) contacted her, where she went on to win the state and national beauty titles and to represent Mexico in Miss Universe 2001, in Puerto Rico.

Acting and hosting career

After being crowned Miss Mexico in 2000, Jacqueline decided to pursue a television career, something she always wanted to do since her youth. She begin her career hosting various award shows and special programs, including Acafest, Premios TVyNovelas, and Fiesta Mexicana.

A huge football fan, in August 2002, she became host of a Mexican sports radio show on Vision AM, and later was invited by Univision to be a host and correspondent of the 2002 FIFA World Cup. She has also done reporting duties for Televisa Deportes (Televisa Sports).

In 2003, Jacqueline got her first full-time acting role in the Mexican soap opera "Alegrijes y Rebujos", from producer Rosy Ocampo. Previously, she had only made brief appearances in other soaps. One year later, she landed a role in the popular soap "Rubi", alongside Barbara Mori and Eduardo Santamarina.

In 2006, she landed her first starring role in the successful Mexican soap opera "Heridas de Amor" (Wounds of Love), alongside Brazilian born actor Guy Ecker. The soap opera was seen and enjoyed not only in Mexico, but also in various other countries.

In Spring of 2007, Jacqueline was cast in her first feature film, entitled Cuando Las Cosas Suceden (When Things Happen), playing the role of a nun named Lucia. Later that year, she briefly returned to hosting with the Mexican game show De Por Vida (For Life), but the show was quickly cancelled.

She recently starred in the comedic Mexican soap opera "Las Tontas No Van al Cielo" (Dumb Women Don't Go to Heaven), alongside Jaime Camil.

Personal life

Bracamontes has had many relationships, most notably with actor Valentino Lanus, football star Francisco "Kikin" Fonseca, and Arturo Carmona. On January 11, 2008, she confirmed to the local press her new relationship with a man named Fernando Schoenwald.

Her mother is of Belgian descent.

Valentino Lanus, her ex-boyfriend, was also her co-star in "Las Tontas No Van al Cielo".

Is polylingual, meaning that she is fluent in Spanish, English, and French.

Is a die-hard fan of the Mexican football club Chivas de Guadalajara, being from Guadalajara herself and given her family background with the club.
