Churches of Christ , although it was not an official denominational publishing company and also found a consumer base among other evangelical Christian groups of theSouthern United States .Howard publishes books on various aspects of Christian living. In addition, Howard has also recently announced a collaborative effort with Big Idea, Inc. to release a gift book series based on the popular
VeggieTales animated series.In 2006 Howard Publishing was bought by
Simon and Schuster .
