FSU's Homecoming PowWow is the signature event during the homecoming week. PowWow is held in the
Donald L. Tucker Center before the homecoming game usually on a Friday. PowWow is featuring performances by the FSU cheerleaders, the FSU Golden Girls, FSU Flying High Circus as well as various other student organizations.The main function of PowWow is to function as a pep rally for the winter sport teams as well as the football team. The voice of the Seminoles Mr.
Gene Deckerhoff hosts the event and includes appearances by head football coachBobby Bowden and the Seminole football team,Leonard Hamilton and the men's basketball team,Sue Semrau and the women's basketball team andBob Braman and the track and field teams.PowWow culminates in a headlining comedian. Headliners in the past include (in order of most recent appearances);
Sarah Silverman ,Stephen Colbert ,Larry the Cable Guy ,Carlos Mencia ,Cedric the Entertainer .Dave Attell ,Dane Cook ,Dave Chapelle and many more have made appearances in the past.This year’s homecoming theme is: Homecoming 2008: Unconquered Legacy.
The 2008 Pow Wow Comedian Host is Jimmy Fallon, who will be taking over for Conan O'Brien as the host of Late Show on NBC in May 2009.
