December 20 1987 ) is aNigeria nsoccer midfielder, who currently plays for theColumbus Crew ofMajor League Soccer .Ekpo spent his developmental years in the youth system of the Rovers of Calabar. Next he played for Akwa United (2006-07) and then on to Enyimba FC in 2007. He also participated in African Games qualifying for Nigerian Men's National Team in 2007.
Ekpo played exclusively in his native Nigeria until participating in much of the Columbus Crew's preseason training, returned to Nigeria in March to take part in CAF Olympic Qualifying. Nigeria defeated South Africa, 3-0, on March 26, to advance to the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
Ekpo signed a contract with
Columbus Crew on April 15, 2008.
