ANSYS, Inc. (nasdaq|ANSS) is a engineering simulation software (CAE) vendor that is headquartered in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, United States. ANSYS, Inc. employs approximately 1,400 people and distributes its products through a network of about 25 sales offices and channel partners in over 40 countries. The company has long-term relationships with customers in a range of industries, including transportation, electronics packaging, biomedical, industrial equipment, and consumer goods. In 2006, ANSYS acquired Fluent, Inc.. The company was founded in 1970 by Dr. John Swanson and originally named Swanson Analysis Systems, Inc.

ANSYS, Inc. has acquired a number of companies since 2000, including ICEM CFD Engineering, CADOE, CFX, Century Dynamics, Harvard Thermal and Fluent, Inc..
