Helene "Lenchen" Demuth (*
31 December 1820 inSankt Wendel ,Saarland ; ?4 November 1890 inLondon ) was the lady housekeeper of Jenny andKarl Marx . Helene Demuth came 1837 as a housemaid into the house of the government adviceJohann Ludwig von Westphalen intoTrier . As Jenny of Westphalen, the daughter of the house, 1843 Karl Marx married, pulled Helene with the recent pair. It stood for them lifelong as lady housekeeper, friend and political Mitstreiterin to the side. To23 June 1851 Helene Demuth gave birth to a boy, however never revealed the name of the father. The small Frederick Lewis Demuth (1851−1929) was given to a Londoner care family. LaterFriedrich Engels the paternity from Frederick recognized years to probably help in order Karl Marx from the embarrassment. The rumors and speculations over Marx' paternity found thereby however no end. After Marx ' death in the year 1883 Helene Demuth moved to Engels' home, who she led from now on the household. Together with it it arranged Marx ' historical deduction. In October 1890 she got sick with cancer and died on 4 November.
