The Barasana language is an aboriginal language spoken for a few hundred natives in Northern South America. [http://www.ethnologue.com/show_language.asp?code=bsn Ethnologue] ]

In 1990, there were 350 speakers in the Vaupes Region of Colombia.

1-5% literacy, 5-15% in auxiliary Spanish. Languages has a dictionary and grammar rules developed. The language follows the Object-Verb-Subject model.

Also known as: Southern Barasano, Paneroa, Eduria, and Edulia.
