History

Cymax Stores was founded in 2004 by Arash Fasihi, selling primarily television stands and entertainment furniture. The business launched its first website specializing in TV stands, Audio-Video-Furniture.com, in the fall of 2004[3]. Currently operating with 115 specialty stores, Cymax retails merchandise from a variety of categories including audio-video furniture, bedroom furniture, office furniture, consumer electronics, small kitchen appliances, houseware products, baby furniture and accessories, and other commercial goods. The company has grown considerably since its founding with reported sales exceeding $80 million for 2009[4], placing it in the top 167 E-tailers in the world as scored by Internet Retailer Magazine [5]. The CEO and founder, Arash Fasihi, was recently nominated for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2010 (Pacific Region, Business to Consumer Category)[6].
