Pascal Gentil

Pascal Gentil (born May 15, 1973) is a French taekwondo practitioner and Olympic medalist. He competed at the at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney where he received a bronze medal in the +80 kg class. Disgruntled by his placing, Gentil tossed his bouquet backwards into the crowd whilst the Korean national anthem played during the medal ceremony. He then refused to be photographed with his fellow medallists, Kim Kyong-Hun of South Korea, and Daniel Trenton of Australia despite their repeated invitations, preferring instead to be photographed alone, and hence, as the sole subject of each portrait. Gentil received a silver medal at the 1995 World Taekwondo Championships in Manila.
