Avon Buses

Avon Buses is a bus operating company based in Prenton on the Wirral Peninsula in Merseyside, England. [ [http://www.tan.gov.uk/tanen/VOSA_anonymousoperatorsearchdetails_New.asp?txtRequestId=142822 VOSA - Operator search details for licence ] ] The company has an all-single deck fleet of about 38 vehicles as of April 2008, most of them low-floor.

Operations

The company operates a number of commercial and tendered local bus services, primarily on the Wirral, [ [http://www.freewebs.com/busoperatorswirral/routesandoperators.htm Wirral Bus Companies - all bus companies operating on Wirral! ] ] including one to Chester. One tendered service is also operated on the opposite side of the Mersey, between Fazakerley and Crosby. School services are also operated.

Fleet

The bulk of the fleet consists of Dennis Dart SLF and more recently Alexander Dennis Dart 4 chassis with a mixture of bodywork: East Lancs Spryte, Plaxton Pointer, MCV Evolution and Marshall Capital. Other low-floor vehicles are a pair of Volvo B6LE with Wright Crusader bodywork, a Plaxton Primo, and six Dennis Lance SLF with Berkhof bodywork.

Step-entrance vehicles, normally used on school services only, consist of four ex-Cardiff Scania N113 with Alexander Strider bodywork, and three ex-Stagecoach Volvo B6 with Alexander Dash bodywork. [ [http://www.dartslf.com/fleetlists/lists/avonfleet.asp Avon Buses - Bus Fleetlist ] ]

Livery

All vehicles are painted in a cream and blue livery.
