G. Balakrishnan Nair

Professor G. Balakrishnan Nair is an emeritus Sanskrit academician, author and renowned scholar of Sree Nārāyana Guru’s spiritual and philosophical works.

Birth and early life

Balakrishnan Nair was born on 5 February 1923 at Peroorkada Thiruvananthapuram. He is the son of Gowriamma and Govinda Pillai Vazhayila Kurukannaal House, Peroorkada

Education

He is an alumnus of Government Sanskrit College Trivandrum and University College Trivandrum. Balakrishnan Nair qualified as Mahopadhyaya in Sanskrit grammar from the University of Kerala. He secured post graduate degrees; M.A. in Malayalam language and M.A. in Sanskrit language from University of Kerala. Further M.A degree in Hindi from Banares Hindu University.

Professional life

Balakrishnan Nair has been on the faculty of Victoria College Palakkad, Mahatma Gandhi College Trivandrum, Government Sanskrit College Trivandrum and Women’s College Trivandrum.
