It is consider an opera magnus in architectural design, and in the modern architecture world. The museum (house and studio) it's property of the Jalisco state government and the Fundación de Arquitectura Tapatía Luis Barragán (Luis Barragán Architecture Foundation).

Architectural Overview

The House is located at General Francisco Ramírez 12 in the Tacubaya suburb in Mexico City, the external facade is in communion with the low-class neighborhood, being this a highly important matter for Barragán, not to change the aspect of a street. The entrance room, is quite small, trying to be an emotional step before finally met the house, as Barragán design it, the use of vivid color as he always do, start to amaze every visitor with the first corridor, being a quite vivid pink, with yellow spaces. One of the most important matters in the house, is the light, as Barragán always hate the use of ceiling illumination, the house is if not by natural illumination only with small lamps place always in top of a small table. The Magnificent garden (not as big as it may look, but as Barragán wanted to feel as an enormous place), is a complicated puzzle of natural corridors, and trees (being one of them only as a decoration, it's not actually alived, the architect want another and choose only to bring one without plant them)
