Angelitha Wass

Angelitha Wass

Angelitha Wass [pronunciation in IPA: ɑŋgɛlitɑ vɑʃ/English: ongeleeto vosh] (15th century - 16th century) was a Hungarian Lady-in-waiting of Anne de Foix-Candale Queen of Hungary and a Mistress of Louis II Jagiellon King of Hungary.

Life

She gave birth a child, the illegitimate son of the king. It was "Prince" John (János in Hungarian) as he titled himself. His and his mother's names appear in the sources of the Chamber in Vienna as either János Wass or János Lanthos which can refer to the fact that he used his mother's name first, then that of his 'jobs's', 'lantos' that means 'lutanist, bard'.

Marriage

She married a Hungarian noble man but she did not have any further issue. She died as a widow.
