Keith Jones (clergyman)

The Very Reverend Keith Jones (born 1945) is the current Dean of York and a former Dean of Exeter in the Church of England. He was installed in his current post in June 2004, having been Dean of Exeter since 1996. Early life and education

Jones was born in Shrewsbury and received his secondary education at Ludlow Grammar School in Shropshire. At the age of 18, he went up to Selwyn College, Cambridge to read English Literature. He trained for the priesthood at Cuddesdon College, Oxford.

Ministry

Jones was ordained at Southwark Cathedral and served his curacy in the parish of Limpsfield with Titsey, Surrey. He served his first Cathedral post as Priest's Vicar at St Albans Cathedral, and was appointed Rural Dean of Ipswich in 1992. Jones was appointed Dean of Exeter in 1996.
