Fur TV is a comedy puppet show shown on MTV ONE in the United Kingdom. The show uses Muppets style puppetry, but in a more adult setting. The characters are shown to undertake human activities such as drinking and having sex.

The main characters are Fat Ed Tubbs, Lapeño Enriquez and Mervin J Minky. Fat Ed is a foul-mouthed, violent, beer swilling heavy metal obsessive, Lapeño is a Brazilian sex god, who is irresistible to women (and even to some men), while Mervin is a hapless, mentally retarded, self-abusing fanatic with an addiction to masturbation.

Each episode will generally relate to one of the characters specific traits:

* Lapeño's ability to seduce any woman he wants and/or his career as a DJ.
* Fat Ed's love of heavy metal and/or extreme violence.
* Mervin's sexual deviance and/or his idiotic good nature.

The story-lines are allowed much greater freedom owing to the main characters being puppets. This fact is often played-on. For instance:

* The episode where Mervin, Lapeno and Fit Ed (Fat Ed's well-toned cousin) end up taking a boat-ride up Fat Ed's ass, is only possible due to their puppet (Fur) status. The ending to this episode closely follows (and affectionately parodies) Apocalypse Now.

* There is also an episode where Lapeno & Mervin are drafted into Ed's band, Stinkhole and Mervin accidentally discovers the (Until then mythical) brown note (This is a note, that when played loud enough, will cause any listeners to immediately evacuate their bowels).

* In an episode which deals with Mervins masturbation addiction, Lapeno and Ed try to stop Marvin from constantly doing so. After a series of luckless tries, Ed simply rips Mervins arms off, with nobody (not even Marvin) making a big deal about it.

Production

Originally a short film which won BBC's Greenlight Award for Comedy in 2002 [http://http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pressreleases/stories/2002/12_december/11/greenlight_winners.shtml] . It was turned into a pilot which aired on BBC2 in 2004 and won the Rose D'Or for Best Pilot at the Montreaux TV Festival. MTV picked it up as a TV series and the show premiered in 2008.

It is now being broadcast on MTV ONE, MTV2 in Canada and MTV in Australia, New Zealand, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy and France where it is known as Télé Poils.
