Pedro da Fonseca (cardinal)

Pedro da Fonseca (cardinal)

: "For the portuguese philosopher of the same name, see Pedro da Fonseca (philosopher)"

Pedro da Fonseca (14th century-1422) was a Portuguese Cardinal, born in Olivença, then in Portugal, but since the 19th century annexed by Spain. He was made Cardinal by the Avignon Pope Benedict XIII, with the title of "Santo Ângelo na Pescaria", in 1409.

When the council of Pisa and Konstanz issued conclusions against the anti-Pope, D. Pedro da Fonseca started to obey to the Pope of Rome, Martin V, that made him Cardinal with the same title in 1419.
