"All or Nothing" is the tenth episode of the third season of the emmy award winning HBO sitcom Sex and the City.

"This is going to be like the 'Bridges of Madison Avenue', a very brief affair I'll write about in sappy letters to my grandchildren." -Carrie"

Characters

Carrie Bradshaw: Sarah Jessica Parker
Miranda Hobbes: Cynthia Nixon
Samantha Jones: Kim Cattrall
Charlotte York: Kristin Davis

Synopsis

Samantha moves to the meat packing district, and convinces the girls that they have it all: great friends, good jobs, and plenty of sex. Carrie's night with Big keeps eating away at her. Deciding she just can't hold it in anymore, Carrie reveals her scarlet letter to Samantha in private after Samantha's soiree. Carrie wonders if she's trying to have it all: the reliable, committed Aidan, and the wild, exciting Mr. Big. Samantha, who has long thought she did have it all, comes down with a bad case of the flu, and learns all the men in her life are unwilling to take care of her when she needs them. On the Charlotte front, Trey lays down a pre-nuptial agreement which has Charlotte worth a "measly" $500,000. On Miranda's advice, Charlotte plays hardball with Trey's mother, Bunny, and successfully negotiates for a million. Miranda meets her first man post-Steve. George is a cute yuppie from out of town who turns Miranda onto the wonders of phone sex. After George puts her on hold, he says something that didn't have to do with their phone sex escapade, having Mirana realizing he's phone-sexing with other women, too. Meanwhile, Carrie realizes she only feels completely safe and able to turn off any thoughts of Mr. Big when she's with Aidan. Aidan is away on a business trip in Pennsylvania, and Carrie tries everything she can do to keep her mind off of Big. She, however, hooks up with Big in her apartment. He tells Carrie he's leaving his wife, Natasha, but Carrie tells him not to and that this is just "another" one time thing. When Aidan returns, he sits Carrie down and asks if she has been cheating. Before she confesses, he asks if she's been smoking. Carrie confesses she's been cheating, and reaffirms her vow to quit.
