1734 Tradition

The 1734 Tradition is a tradition of American witchcraft founded in the 20th century by Joe Wilson (1942-2004), after corresponding with Roy Bowers (Robert Cochrane).

The "masculine mysteries" of this tradition are associated with fire, and known as the Clan of Tubal Cain. The "feminine mysteries" are associated with the flow of creation and destruction and life and death.

1734 is not a date but a combination of symbolic numbers. However, there is some controversy [http://www.crookedpath.org/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=66&FORUM_ID=5&CAT_ID=3&Topic_Title=Robert+Cochrane+Biography&Forum_Title=The+1734+Tradition] about whether the combination of numbers was one of Cochrane's little jokes.
