Austin Santos (born December 23, 1985) better known artistically as Arcángel, is a Puerto Rican-Dominican reggaeton artist. Known from the reggaeton duo Arcangel & De La Ghetto, he is well known for his charismatic, romantic lyrical style.

Biography

Austin Santos was born on December 23, 1986 in the city of New York. His Dominican mother realized her dream of singing by joining a Merengue group known as "Las Chicas del Can." Santos is purportedly a former member of the street gang Latin Kings. Santos met a young reggaetonero known as "De La Ghetto" and the two began working together ever since. "Arcangel & De La Ghetto", although they are relatively new artists, have done well so far with hits like "Ven Pégate", "Sorpresa", and "Mi Fanática". They have since then gained fame relatively quickly.

Future Plans

As of 2008 Luny Tunes signed Arcangel to their record label, Mas Flow Inc. Arcangel is planning to release his first commercial album "El Fenomeno" in 2008 produced by Luny Tunes. It is said to be including artists such as Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, and Wisin & Yandel. Release date of album set to October 2008. In late 2008, Arcangel will also appear in the upcoming film "Muerte en el Paraiso" (English: "Death in Paradise") coming soon later this year. Feuds

On Saturday, June 28 2008, reggaeton artist Polaco, interrupted Arcangel at a concert in Puerto Rico, which caught worldwide attention. Polaco came up to the stage face-to-face with Arcangel, where the two rivals what seemed to be a "tiraera" (trash talking) battle. Face to face, Arcangel responded to Polaco by saying "Te apesta la boca" (Spanish for: "Your mouth stinks") and then walked away. Polaco immediately grabbed Arcangelto prevent him from walking away, then security "ganged up" on Polaco until they split up the fight. Polaco was immediately escorted from the building. Afterwards, Arcangel continued with the show. After the show, Arcangel declared that the situation with Polaco was now more that just an artistic rivalry, it's now a personal feud.

In recent days a video of Arcangel imitateting Mexicano 777 have been seen in the internet, this has came to Mexicano 777 attention and didn't like it, but he doesn't know that Arcangel did this video joking and now Mexicano is planning to feud Arcangel.
