Tulsk (lga|Tuilsce) is a village in County Roscommon, Ireland. The N5 national primary road passes through it as of 2007, though a by-pass is planned. The village is located between Strokestown and Bellanagare on the Dublin to Castlebar/Westport road.

Trivia

Renowned Irish folk singer Christy Moore, in the title track of his "Welcome to the Cabaret" album, describes Tulsk as being like "hell".

Heritage

Cruachan is one of the most important and best preserved Celtic Royal Sites in EuropeFact|date=July 2007, and Tulsk is the setting for this centre. Cruachan was a royal palace, reputed to be the home of Medb (or Meave), Warrior Queen, responsible for launching the raid of Moffett, as recounted in one of the best known works of early Irish literature, the Táin Bó Cuailnge.

Modern Science is shedding new light on the significance of this ancient landscape and the meaning of the 60 National Monuments to be found here. The results of a recent Archaeogeophysical Survey carried out by Fr. Austin McKeown from National University of Ireland, Galway, are incorporated into the exhibition. The survey has discovered significant and previously unknown features.
