Sam B. Taylor was an educator and college football coach in the United States. His career record was 84 wins, 52 losses, and 16 ties.

Educator

In 1943, Taylor was named the "Supervisor of Negro Education" for the state of Kentucky. Taylor was the fourth head college football coachfor the Prairie View A&M University Panthers located in Prairie View, Texasand he held that position for thirteen seasons, from 1931 until 1943.His career coaching record at Prairie View was 69 wins, 32 losses, and 15 ties. As of the conclusion of the 2007 season, this ranks himsecond at Prairie View in total wins and sixth at Prairie View in winning percentage (0.659).
