Cotinga Discipline Ornithology Language English Publication details Publisher Neotropical Bird Club (United Kingdom) Publication history 1994 to present Indexing ISSN 1353-985X Links Cotinga is an ornithological journal published biannually by the Neotropical Bird Club since 1994 and is important in the field of neotropical ornithology and bird conservation in South America.[1][2] It accepts articles, short notes and reviews concerning the wild birds of South America, Central America from Mexico to Panama, and the islands of the Caribbean. Papers may be written in English, Spanish or Portuguese.
The focus of Cotinga is on new distributional and temporal information, including new country records, new biological information, particularly on breeding, and new interpretations on taxonomy, particularly descriptions of new taxa. It does not accept papers on aberrant plumages or diet.[3]
