DeStorm Power (pronounced day·storm) is an American YouTube personality.  He is the 44th most subscribed user as well as the 8:th most subscribed musician on YouTube.[1]

History

DeStorm was born in Arlington, Virginia.  After interning and ghostwriting at Atlantic Records, Universal, and various other record labels,[2] DeStorm set out to establish himself as a performer, using YouTube as a platform to share his singing, songwriting, and production skills with the online community.[3] Power's videos are typically comedic, and also often incorporate rapping and beatboxing.[4]  Prior to his online success, Power was an accomplished triple jumper and Master personal trainer, and was notably invited to the Olympic Trials.[5]

DeStorm's YouTube channel, registered under the username DeStorm, has over 1,000,000 unique subscribers, and is used primarily for his musical endeavors.  It is currently the 8th ranked music channel on YouTube.[6]"What's up World?"—DeStorm's catch phrase—can be heard at the start of every video. Power often composes and performs covers of well known songs or creates content for major brands such as Pepsi, GE, Yahoo and Nintendo. Power also creates original content based upon subscribers' challenges and suggestions, like name dropping various movie titles.[7]  Power occasionally collaborates with other popular YouTube personalities and recording artists, such as  Mystery Guitar Man, Freddie Wong, Ray William Johnson, Nice Peter and Kina Grannis.[8] Powers also competed in a commercial contest hosted by Heinz Ketchup and was a finalist. DeStormTV

DeStormTV, DeStorm's second YouTube channel is used primarily for blogging, motivational, and behind the scenes videos.  As a former personal trainer and Olympic level triple jumper, Power also gives fitness tips to the 200,000+ subscribers of this channel. [9]
