Duke Jing of Jin

Duke Jing of Jin

Duke Jing of Jin (d. 4th Century BCE) (simplified Chinese: ; traditional Chinese: ; pinyin: Jìn Jìng Hóu), was the last ruler of the State of Jin during the Warring States Period of Chinese history. Born Jù Jĭu (Chinese: ) he was the son of Duke Xiào of Jin and ascended to the throne on the death of his father in the first year of the reign of King Wei of Qi[1] and the twenty-fourth year of King An of Zhou (378 BCE).

In 376 BCE the States of Wei, Han and Zhao together attacked and wiped out Duke Jing and his family thereby exterminating the State of Jin. Afterwards the three allies divided up the former Jin territory amongst themselves[2]
